DESCRIPTION
The Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller serves Leon County residents by supporting court operations, processing and recording judicial orders, and safeguarding public records and funds.

Starting Salary Notice: Initial appointments are typically made at or near the minimum of the approved pay range, consistent with budget authorization and internal equity.
Position Overview:The Imaging Specialist performs document imaging and digital records support functions to ensure the accurate conversion, organization, and accessibility of records within authorized systems in accordance with retention schedules and established procedures.
This position operates within a structured public-sector environment requiring professionalism, accountability, and adherence to confidentiality standards. The position applies established procedures but does not interpret legal rulings, provide legal advice, or determine legal outcomes. Authority is limited to document processing and records handling actions defined by policy and procedure.
ESSENTIAL ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES

Document Imaging & Processing
Prepares and processes documents for inclusion in authorized electronic systems in accordance with established procedures. Performs review activities to support accuracy and completeness of imaged records. Applies required confidentiality handling and information masking procedures.
Records Preparation & Support
Coordinates preparation and movement of records for imaging, storage, or retention activities. Supports workflow balancing and document organization within established procedures.
Operational Support
Operates imaging equipment and associated systems to maintain document tracking and accessibility. Provides operational support functions to maintain workflow continuity when assigned.
Assignments may vary based on operational need and cross-training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Foundational Knowledge
General knowledge of document handling practices, confidentiality requirements, and administrative procedures.
Functional Skills
Ability to process, organize, and review documents accurately within established procedures. Ability to operate imaging equipment and associated systems.
Communication & Professional Skills
Ability to communicate professionally with staff and stakeholders. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive situations.
Analytical & Judgment Skills
Ability to apply procedures consistently, identify discrepancies, and refer matters outside established authority to appropriate personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education
High school diploma or GED.
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Required Experience
Experience in document processing, records handling, administrative support, or related work preferred.
Required Licensure or Certification
None required.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

CONDITIONS OF JOB OFFER & EMPLOYMENT

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in office and storage environments and may require prolonged sitting or standing, repetitive hand movement, and handling materials weighing up to approximately 20 - 25 pounds. Professionalism and adherence to confidentiality requirements are required at all times. Work schedules may vary based on operational needs and may include early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekend hours to support service delivery and operational coverage.
