Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs and evaluates overnight polysomnograms. Operates medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. Applies recording devices to patient, cleans/sterilizes equipment and monitors polysomnograms. Recognizes sleep pathology when it occurs in the laboratory and responds with the appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety. Knowledge includes comprehensive understanding of sleep disorders management, consequences of untreated sleep disorders, patient-specific teaching strategies, and quality assurance processes and performance indicators. Goals include improved long-term patient outcomes and health, improved compliance of treatments and interventions, and adherence to AASM guidelines for quality assurance. The role of the Clinical Sleep Education and Quality Assurance Coordinator includes review of technical quality of recordings and efficacy of clinical interventions.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree required
  • (RPSGT) Registered Polysomnographic Technologist required
  • BLS Certification required
  • Five years of work experience in the field of sleep medicine required
  • Two years of experience in quality assurance required
