What You'll Do
- Oversee daily accounting operations including payroll, reconciliations, commissions, and financial reporting
- Ensure payroll accuracy, confidentiality, and timely processing
- Review payroll calculations, validate data, and confirm funding approvals
- Audit payroll and commission records to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Prepare and review Profit & Loss reports, Net Profit reports, and other financial analyses
- Generate payroll and accounting reports for leadership review
- Lead onboarding, training, and development of accounting team members
- Monitor departmental productivity, accuracy, and workflow efficiency
- Maintain and update SOPs, department handbook, and workflow documentation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated accounting issues
- Collaborate with leadership to improve processes and prepare for organizational initiatives (including OEP readiness)
- Act as liaison between carriers, brokers, and internal teams to resolve financial issues
- Provide backup support for front-office operations as needed
Requirements
- 3-5 years of accounting, payroll, commission processing, or reconciliation experience
- Proven leadership ability or experience training/supporting team members
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/payroll systems
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- High school diploma or GED required; accounting/payroll certifications preferred
- Self-starter with accountability and ownership mindset
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership
