Respiratory Therapist (RT) - Weekends Only

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team in Tampa, Florida. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to our residents, and you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in their lives.

Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing specialized care and treatment to patients with cardio-pulmonary, respiratory conditions, neurological disorders, and physical conditions that manifest into respiratory disorders over an extended period. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing, providing diagnostic testing, developing treatment plans, and providing treatment to our Skilled Nursing Facility population.

Responsibilities:

• Provides patient treatments which meet patient needs and uses current treatment knowledge in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Develops an effective plan of treatment and obtains appropriate approvals from a referring physician
• Communicates with supervisor and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems, and treatment plans
• Instructs patient's families and/or nursing staff in specified follow-through programs
• Interviews patients and families regarding previous level of functioning, lifestyle, and current and future expectations for recovery
• Provides patient care as appropriate and necessary, following the position description for the applicable clinical discipline in which licensure or certification is held
• Maintains accurate, complete, and clear documentation in accordance with facility regulatory, licensing, payor, and accrediting requirements
• Consistently demonstrates facility interdisciplinary approach to patient care
• Consistently demonstrates professional standards as outlined in the facility's Employee Handbook and as communicated by the facility's management

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited program for Respiratory Therapy preferred
• Must possess and maintain a current license in the state of practice as required
• Other education and experience may be considered

Experience:

• Preferred experience with skilled interventions such as oxygen weaning therapy, omni flow - biofeedback, group respiratory therapy, standardized respiratory testing, aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry, chest physiotherapy, deep breathing and coughing, bronchial hygiene therapy, PEP therapy, OPEP therapy, postal drainage, positioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with CPAP/BIPAP and high-flow oxygen
• Experience with cardiac and pulmonary programs, including 6-minute walk test and 2-minute walk test
