POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an OPS Golf Course Pro Shop Assistant. This is a part-time position located at the Mark Bostick Golf Course Pro Shop. The position will open the pro shop in the morning, and/or close down the shop at night. Before opening in the morning, the shop has to be prepared to take in customers; the petty cash has to be counted and verified, and the computer set up to record transactions. The staff is the "face" of the course, meeting members and guests with good customer service skills and transacting business, i.e. selling merchandise, collecting greens fees and range fees in a professional manner. At the end of the day, the afternoon pro shop staff will record and sign off on the money in the cash drawer, put their pouch and petty cash tray, along with the snack bar's, in the safe. Turn off lights and secure all doors and turn on the alarm system. This posting will be open until a qualified candidate has been selected.

Required Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
- Capable of lifting at least 25 lbs.
- The ability to work a non-standard work schedule that may include evenings, weekends and some holidays.
- Ability to work with general public in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional manner
- The ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds
- If selected, a comprehensive background screening and credit check will be required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cash handling with sales transactions & customer service experience.
