Job Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for managing the handling, receiving, and organization of materials at a designated jobsite. This role ensures that all materials are properly received, inspected, stored, and distributed to support project operations efficiently and safely.
What you will do doing:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Safely unload, move, and store materials in designated areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.
- Organize and stage materials for installation crews as needed.
- Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) in compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor material usage and assist with reordering when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized material storage area.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
What you need for this position:
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- May require climbing ladders or stairs and working in confined spaces.
- Use of PPE as required by jobsite safety protocols.
