Anticipated Salary Range
The minimum salary for the position is in the mid-$30,000s. Anticipated starting salary will be offered commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
This position oversees laboratory research activities in Dr. Linda Rinaman's lab.
- Removing fixed brains from experimental animals, section brains on a freezing microtome, perform basic immunocytochemical staining, mount tissue sections onto glass slides, coverslip slides.
- Keeping track of laboratory reagents and alert PI when supplies are running low, prepare buffer stock solutions and ensure adequacy of supplies, receive and store purchased reagents according to manufacturer's instructions, ensure that PO's are active and up to date.
- Assisting with undergraduate researchers training. Maintaining animal colony records, including weanings and genotyping. Performs tissue histology, microscope imaging, and maintains detailed experimental records.
- Maintaining animal colony, wean pups, collecting ear punch samples to send out for genotyping.
- Maintaining a clean and well-organized environment in the Rinaman histology lab space and vivarium space. Ensure compliance with ACUC and EHS policies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed ACUC-mandated training for approved research using rodents as experimental subjects.
- At least two years' experience handling and working with rodents in laboratory research.
