Key Duties & Responsibilities

Instructional Support: Deliver teacher-planned lessons to individual students or small groups. Reinforce concepts in reading, math, and life skills. Adapt and modify instructional materials, worksheets, and equipment as directed. Assist students in utilizing assistive technology and software.

Behavior Management: Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under the guidance of the teacher or behavior specialist. Monitor student behavior, de-escalate conflicts, and redirect students during emotional outbursts. Encourage positive peer interactions and social-emotional growth.
Data & Record Keeping: Observe and collect data regarding student academic and behavioral progress. Assist the lead teacher with grading assignments and proctoring exams.

Personal & Physical Care: Attend to students' physical and personal needs, including feeding, hygiene, and restroom assistance. Assist with student mobility, positioning, and operating mobility aids (e.g., wheelchairs, lifts). Supervise students in non-classroom settings such as the cafeteria, hallways.

Collaboration: Participate as an active member of the IEP team to support student goals. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all student records and medical information.
