Provide individual and group counseling to address academic, social, behavioral, and emotional needs of students
Assist students in developing coping, problem-solving, and life skills
Identify and respond to mental health concerns, behavioral issues, and crisis situations
Serve on the school crisis team and assist during emergencies affecting students
Guide students in academic planning, course selection, and graduation requirements
Monitor student progress, interventions, and academic performance
Help students develop academic goals and success plans
Assist with standardized testing preparation and performance tracking
Coordinate and participate in MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) processes and interventions
Assist in 504 plan coordination and student support meetings
Collaborate with ESE staff on IEP monitoring and support services
Facilitate referrals for academic, behavioral, or mental health services
Work closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and community agencies to support student success
Communicate student concerns such as behavior changes, safety risks, or academic issues to appropriate stakeholders
Promote a positive school climate and supportive environment
Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with district and state standards
Maintain accurate, confidential student records and documentation
Monitor and document student interventions, progress, and services provided
Ensure compliance with Florida Department of Education counseling standards and policies
